إِذاwhen حانَتcomes وَفاتيmy death فادفنونيthen bury me
إِذا حانَت وَفاتي فادفنوني
بكرمٍin a vineyard واِجعَلواand make زِقّاًa wineskin وِساديmy pillow
بكرمٍ واِجعَلوا زِقّاً وِسادي
When the time of my death comes, then bury me
When my death comes then bury me
When my time of death arrives, bury me
In a vineyard, and make a wineskin my pillow,
With generosity and make my shroud a pillow,
In a vineyard, and make a wineskin my pillow
وابريقاًand a pitcher إِلىat جَنبيmy side وَطاساًand a cup
وابريقاً إِلى جَنبي وَطاساً
يروّيquenches thirst هامَتيmy head وَيَكونُand will be زاديmy sustenance
يروّي هامَتي وَيَكونُ زادي
And a pitcher at my side, and a cup
And place a jug by my side and a bowl
And a pitcher by my side, and a drinking bowl
To quench my head’s thirst and be my sustenance.
To quench my thirst and be my provision.
To quench my skull and serve as my provisions
