إِذا صَلَّيتُ خَمساً كُلَّ يَومٍ

إِذا صَلَّيتُ خَمساً كُلَّ يَومٍ

فَإِنَّ اللَهَ يَغفِرُ لي فُسوقي

فَإِنَّ اللَهَ يَغفِرُ لي فُسوقي

If I offer five prayers every day,

If I pray five times every day

If I pray five times every day,

then God forgives me my sinfulness.

Then God will forgive my sins

Then surely Allah will forgive my transgressions,

وَلَم أُشرِك بِرَبِّ الناسِ شَيئاً

وَلَم أُشرِك بِرَبِّ الناسِ شَيئاً

فَقَد أَمسَكتُ بالدينِ الوَثيقِ

فَقَد أَمسَكتُ بالدينِ الوَثيقِ

And I have associated nothing with the Lord of mankind,

And I did not associate anything with the Lord of mankind

And if I associate nothing with the Lord of mankind,

so I have held fast to the firm faith.

So I held on to the solid religion

Then I have firmly grasped the steadfast faith.

وَجاهدتُ العَدوَّ وَنلتُ مالاً

وَجاهدتُ العَدوَّ وَنلتُ مالاً

يُبَلِّغُني إِلى البَيت العَتيقِ

يُبَلِّغُني إِلى البَيت العَتيقِ

And I have fought the enemy and gained wealth

And fought the enemy and gained wealth

And if I fight the enemy and attain wealth

that brings me to the Ancient House.

That takes me to the Ancient House

That carries me to the Ancient House,

فَهَذا الدينُ لَيسَ بِهِ خَفاءٌ

فَهَذا الدينُ لَيسَ بِهِ خَفاءٌ

دَعوني في بُنَيّاتِ الطَريقِ

دَعوني في بُنَيّاتِ الطَريقِ

So there is no obscurity in this faith;

So this religion has no ambiguity

For this religion has no obscurity in it,

leave me on the road's byways.

Leave me be, in the structures of the path

So leave me be regarding the minor branching paths.
