أزل علة الشرك الخفيّ لدى السير

وكن أنت في طي وأخراك في نشر

وكن أنت في طي وأخراك في نشر

Remove the malady of hidden idolatry as you journey.

The hidden association of the self is an eternal affliction in journeying,

And be yourself enfolded, and your hereafter unfolded.

And be thou in solitude, but make your sustenance in giving.

وإن رمت كشف الحسن في داخل الدير

وإن رمت كشف الحسن في داخل الدير

توضأ بماء الغيب إن كنت ذا سر

توضأ بماء الغيب إن كنت ذا سر

And if you seek to unveil beauty inside the monastery,

If you seek to reveal beauty in the cloister,

Perform ablution with the water of the unseen, if you possess a secret.

Purify yourself with the water of mystery, if you possess an interior life;

وإلا تيمم بالصعيد أو الصخر

وإلا تيمم بالصعيد أو الصخر

ورد مورد الأسمى وفض

ورد مورد الأسمى وفض

Otherwise, perform dry ablution with earth or rock.

Otherwise, perform the dry ablution with dust or rocks.

And approach the watering place of the Most Exalted, and break open

Return to the most sublime retreat, and conclude

ختامه وحل بواد الأنس وأقرع خيامه

وهم بشهود الحق وارع ذمامه

وهم بشهود الحق وارع ذمامه

Its seal; alight in the valley of intimacy and knock at its tents.

Its seal, and settle in the valley of intimacy - pitch its tents.

And be enraptured by witnessing the Real, and safeguard His covenant.

And think on the witnessing of Truth, hold fast its bridle,

وقدّم إماما كنت أنت إمامه

وقدّم إماما كنت أنت إمامه

وصل صلاة العصر في أول الظهر

وصل صلاة العصر في أول الظهر

And put forward an imam whose imam you yourself were.

And take as your imam whom you were the imam of.

And perform the afternoon prayer at the beginning of noon:

Perform the mid-afternoon prayer at the start of noon -

صلاة شهود الوالهين بحبهم

صلاة شهود الوالهين بحبهم

بحضرة أنوار الشهود لقربهم

بحضرة أنوار الشهود لقربهم

A prayer of witnessing for those enraptured by their love,

The prayer of witnessing the Most High in their love,

In the presence of the lights of witnessing, owing to their nearness.

In the presence of the lights of witnesses in their nearness.

تطهر من الأكوان تهدى لشربهم

تطهر من الأكوان تهدى لشربهم

فهاذي صلاة العرافين بربهم

فهاذي صلاة العرافين بربهم

Purify yourself of created things; you will be guided to their draught.

Purify yourself from all creation, be guided to their drink.

For this is the prayer of seers who know their Lord.

For this is the prayer of knowers with their Lord.

فإن كنت منهم فانضح البر بالبحر

فإن كنت منهم فانضح البر بالبحر

So if you are one of them, sprinkle the land with the sea.

So if you are of them, sprinkle goodness into the sea.
