يا ربنا يا مظهر الشهود

ومصدر الفيض على الوجود

O our Lord, O Revealer of witnessing,

And source of the outpouring upon existence,

وعنصر الفضل ومادة الرسول

وسدرة السير لمنتهى الوصول

And origin of grace and the Messenger's sustaining source,

And the lote tree of the journey to the utmost attainment,

أبسط علينا من أيادي الامتنان

ما يثلج الصدر له مدى الزمان

Spread over us, from the benefactions of Your favor,

What brings joy to the breast throughout all time.

وافتح علينا من فيوض المدد

لجج بحر ما لها من عدد

And open to us, from the outpourings of aid,

A sea's deep waters, beyond all number.

واشرح صدورا بالتجلي والكشوف

واغسل ظغائن أليمها مخوف

And expand breasts through manifestation and unveilings,

And wash away grudges whose pain is fearful.

وأسبل علينا الستر والأمانا

فرح قلوبا وأزح أحزانا

And drape us in concealment and safety,

Gladden hearts and dispel sorrows.

واستعمل الأشباح في الطاعات

كذلك الأرواح للمشاهدات

And employ the bodies in acts of obedience,

And likewise the spirits in acts of witnessing.

وجرد النفس من الكثافة

وحلها بحلل اللطافة

And strip the soul of density,

And adorn it in robes of subtlety.

وجرد العقل من العقال

وتوج السر بتاج الكمال

And free the intellect from its fetters,

And crown the inner secret with the crown of perfection.

وهذبن بفضلك الأخلاقا

ويسرن بجودك الأرزاقا

And refine our character by Your grace,

And ease our livelihoods by Your generosity.

وعلمن منك العلم المكنون

وعمنا من فيض سرك المصون

And teach us, from Yourself, the hidden knowledge,

And envelop us in the outpouring of Your guarded secret.

واحفظ علينا السمع من آفات

والشم والذوق من العاهات

And preserve our hearing from afflictions,

And smell and taste from impairments,

كذا اليدان وكذا الرجلان

والأصغران وكذا العينان

Likewise the two hands and likewise the two feet,

And the two lesser organs—the heart and tongue—and likewise the two eyes.

واستعملنها في رضاك يا ودود

وجبين إليها كثرة السجود

And employ them in what pleases You, O Loving One,

And make frequent prostration dear to them [uncertain reading].

واحفظها يا رب من الشيطان

ومدها من مدد الرحمان

And protect them, O Lord, from Satan,

And sustain them with the aid of the All-Merciful.

بحق قيوم السماوات ومن

له الشؤون كل يوم تظهرن

By the right of the Sustainer of the heavens, and of Him

To whom belong the affairs that unfold each day,

وحق من إليه تلجأ الورى

عند الشدائد فتخنل العرى

And by the right of Him to whom creatures seek refuge

In hardships, when bonds loosen [uncertain reading],

من علينا بحلاوة الإيمان

والانخراط في بساط الإحسان

Bestow upon us the sweetness of faith,

And entry onto the carpet of spiritual excellence—

نحن ووالدونا والأهلونا

كذا الأصحاب أنل فنونا

We, our parents, and our families,

Likewise our companions; grant varied gifts.

كذا بنون ما بقوا منعمين

في الدين والدنيا مع المستيقنين

Likewise our sons, blessed for as long as they remain,

In religion and this world, with those of sure conviction.

واحفظ عليهم دينهم وأكلأهم

من الشياطين فلا تفتنهم

And preserve their faith for them, and guard them

From devils, lest they tempt them

عما أمرتهم به أعيذهم

بكلماتك التي تنجدهم

Away from what You commanded them; I seek protection for them

Through Your words that come to their aid.

وأغننا يا غني يا وهاب

حي كريم رؤوف توّاب

And enrich us, O Self-Sufficient One, O Bestower,

Ever-Living, Generous, Compassionate, Accepter of repentance.

واشفنا يا شافي فقد عم الحرج

واشتدت الأزمة عجل بالفرج

And heal us, O Healer, for distress has spread,

And the crisis has worsened; hasten relief.

واكفنا يا كافي إذا دهمنا

بضغطات الدهر لا ذهلنا

And suffice us, O All-Sufficient One, when we are assailed

By the pressures of time—may we not be bewildered.

واكشف خطوب الدهر يا قويّ

حي قيوم عظيم ولي

And dispel the calamities of time, O Strong One,

Ever-Living, Sustainer, Magnificent, Guardian.

واسبل علينا الستر يا قيوم

في كل لحظة لنا يدوم

And drape us in concealment, O Sustainer,

Enduring for us in every moment.

وزج بي في لجة المشاهده

ولا تثبطني عن المجاهده

And plunge me into the deep waters of witnessing,

And do not hold me back from spiritual striving,

لكي أكون شاربا بالكاسين

ومعطيا شعائرا بالعلمين

So that I may drink from both cups,

And offer rites through both kinds of knowledge.

يا ربنا يا ربنا يا ربنا

O our Lord, O our Lord, O our Lord.

وطهر العقول من شكوك

واحفظ أوامري من التروك

And purify minds of doubts,

And keep my commands from being neglected.

مهيمن قدوس يا رحيم

سلام مومن شكور حليم

Guardian, Most Holy, O Merciful One,

Peace, Giver of security, Appreciative, Forbearing,

ودود يا غفور يا رحمان

عطو يا حنان يا منان

Loving One, O All-Forgiving, O All-Merciful,

Pardoning One [uncertain reading], O Tender One, O Bestower of favors,

سلم جموعنا من التكسير

أدم كمالنا بلا تغيير

Keep our gatherings safe from being broken apart,

Make our perfection endure without change.

واجمع قلوبنا عليك يا قريب

في كل وقت يا كريم يا مجيب

And unite our hearts upon You, O Near One,

At every moment, O Generous One, O Answerer.

واكفنا شر الحسود الغشوم

مع المعاند الغبي الظلوم

And shield us from the evil of the brutal envier,

Together with the stubborn, foolish oppressor,

بما تشاء يا مذل يا وكيل

خيب فخوخ الكافرين يا جليل

As You will, O Humiliator, O Trustee.

Thwart the unbelievers' traps, O Majestic One.

واكسف عقولهم وأركس مسعاهم

امحل خلجانهم وخصب مرعاهم

And darken their minds and overturn their efforts.

Dry up their waterways, and make their pasture fertile.

واعقم تدابر لهم والمصائد

أوقعهم بها في جب الأخاديد

And render their mutual estrangement and snares fruitless.

Cast them by these into the pit of the trenches.

أذقهم اللهم بؤس المشئمات

وقد خلت من قبلهم المثلات

Make them taste, O God, the misery of baleful calamities,

And exemplary punishments have already passed before them.

واجعل آراءهم لها تناكس

في الجزئيات وكذا النوامس

And cause their opinions to be overturned,

In particulars and likewise in laws.

وخذهم أخذ عزيز مقتدر

بالبشطة الكبرى وبأمر قد قدر

And seize them with the seizure of a Mighty, All-Powerful One,

With the greatest onslaught and a decree already ordained.

ورد كيدهم بهم يا قهار

اقهر عدوي وانتقم يا جبار

And turn their plotting back upon them, O Overpowering One.

Overcome my enemy and take vengeance, O Compeller.

وشتت الجموع منهم يا قدير

واذهب بنورهم يا حق يا بصير

And scatter their hosts, O All-Powerful One,

And take away their light, O Truth, O All-Seeing One.

وعمهم منك بجند الرهبوت

واشمل إيماننا بجند الرغبوت

And overwhelm them with Your host of dread,

And encompass our faith with the host of yearning.

واحفظ علينا بيضة الإسلام

وزدها ريشا بتآخي الأنام

And safeguard for us the egg of Islam,

And add to it plumage through the brotherhood of humankind.

أيد عقولنا بروح القدس

ومدنا بدون حصر الأكؤس

Strengthen our minds with the Holy Spirit,

And supply us with cups beyond all counting.

وخيب القصود والأماني

منهم على الفور بلا تواني

And thwart the aims and wishes

That are theirs, at once, without delay.

أدر علينا من دروع وزرود

ومن حصون الحفظ جودا ودود

Surround us with coats of armor and chain mail,

And with fortresses of protection, generously, O Loving One.

بحق سر باء بسم الله

والذات والصفات يا إلهي

By the right of the secret of the ba of 'In the name of God,'

And of the Essence and the attributes, O my God,

لا تخفرن ذمتنا فيما انتمى

لنا ولاذ وأنله مغنما

Do not violate our pledge of protection toward whoever belongs

To us and seeks refuge; grant him bounty.

واجعل رحابنا مناهل الوراد

حسا ومعنى وملاذا للعباد

And make our courtyards watering places for those who come,

Physically and spiritually, and a refuge for the servants.

هذا الدعاء وعليك التكلان

أجب دعانا عاجلا يا رحمان

This is the supplication, and upon You is our reliance.

Answer our prayer swiftly, O All-Merciful,

بالمصطفى لبنة التمام

مشيد الإيمان والإسلام

Through the Chosen One, the brick of completion,

The builder of faith and Islam.

أزج كروبي وأذهبن غمومي

واكشف شجوني وأمط همومي

Drive away my distresses and dispel my griefs,

And lift my sorrows and remove my worries,

بآله وصحبه العظام

ما حدا حاج بحمى الكرام

Through his family and his great companions,

As long as a pilgrim chants within the sanctuary of the noble.
