Is this a day's joy, followed by remembrance?

  2. أجنان نسر أم فسيح أجنة

    أبدور ليل غار منها نهار

Are they a vulture's gardens, or a broad expanse of gardens?

Are they full moons of night that daylight envied?

Then on their cheeks the blossoms are found:

    وبنفسج وختامهن بهار

Roses and wondrous narcissus, along with irises,

And violets, with yellow daisies as their finale.

    تجلى بها الأغيار والأكدار

A garden of beauty, complete in these forms,

Through them, otherness and sorrows are dispelled.
