  1. أتاني كترب لو يقر قسيمه

    بقبر رميم عاش من كان في القبر

    It came to me like dust [uncertain reading]; were its counterpart to rest

    in a crumbling grave, whoever was in the grave would come alive.

  2. فجدد لي شوقا وما كنت ناسيا

    ولكنه تجديد ذكر على ذكر

    So it renewed my longing, though I had not forgotten;

    but it was a renewal of remembrance upon remembrance.
