So the substances of the universe became museums exhibiting the secret

Of his momentous overflowing, the most just and encompassing

Banners were stamped with a seal of vicegerency

and became girdled with a speckled viper.

And they became girded with the snake of Al-Raqm

وشيت بجمع شؤونها تمت بنا

وشيت بجمع شؤونها تمت بنا

لبن التمام على طراز مبهم

Embroidered with the union of their affairs, completed through us were

And it joined together its affairs completed for us

the bricks of completion, in an enigmatic design.

The brick of perfection on the model of the ambiguous

وفت لناص ونون بعدما

They sufficed for 'Nāṣ' and Nūn, after

And it opened for us the letter 'noon' after

the platforms of the Greatest Book had been erected.

لا شيء في شيء منيع طلسم

Qāf and Hāʾ, then the Kāf of our Sīn—

'Qaf' and 'ha', then 'kaf', our 'seen'

nothing within something—an impregnable talisman.

Nothing in anything impenetrable magic

Tāʾ and 'Ẓādh', then the Bāʾ of its ʿAyn—

'Ta', 'dhad', then 'ba', its 'ayn'

dominions extend over me like a 'Ṭamṭam' mountain.

States extending upon me like piles of ruin

شوغال كلكم كلكمت في واوها

شوغال كلكم كلكمت في واوها

عند الهواء مرضعا بتكلكم

'Shūghāl'—all of you—'kalkamat' within its Wāw,

Clamoring all of you clamored in its 'waw'

beside the air, being suckled through 'takalkum'.

In the 'ta' from the obscure 'ha' of the air
