My God, by the people of the secret and the point that

My God, by the people of mystery and the dot

turned away from the arc of my identity’s chord,

That receded from the bow and string of my identity

وبيروخ برهوت بظلمة ذاته

بطلسم لاهوت بناسوت صورتي

بطلسم لاهوت بناسوت صورتي

and by Birukh Barahut, by the darkness of his essence,

And Brahman in his darkness

by the talisman of divinity, by the human nature of my form,

With the incantation of divinity in the image of my humanity

بأطلس روح الروح والفلك الذي

بأطلس روح الروح والفلك الذي

أحاط بخط العين لوح صحيفتي

أحاط بخط العين لوح صحيفتي

by the starless sphere of the spirit’s spirit, and the celestial sphere that

By the atlas of the soul of the soul and orbit that

encompassed the tablet of my page with the line of the eye,

Surrounded the line of sight of the tablet of my destiny

وبالذات والتفريد في ظلمة العمى

وبالذات والتفريد في ظلمة العمى

وبالغين والتجريد في ماء وحدتي

وبالغين والتجريد في ماء وحدتي

and by the Essence and singling-out, in the darkness of blindness,

And by essence and individuation in the blindness of the blind

and by ghayn and detachment, in the water of my oneness,

And by unity and abstraction in the water of my oneness

أنلني بذات الذات ذات ذواتها

أنلني بذات الذات ذات ذواتها

وبالذات من حسن اللثام مليحتي

وبالذات من حسن اللثام مليحتي

grant me, by the essence of the Essence, the essence of its essences,

Grant me by His essence the essence of His essences

and, by the Essence, my fair one from the beauty of the veil.

And by essence the beauty of my veil, lovely lady

أنلني شفاء ليس يعقبه عنى

أنلني شفاء ليس يعقبه عنى

فإني ذليل بعد عزة سطوتي

فإني ذليل بعد عزة سطوتي

Grant me healing that no suffering follows,

Grant me a cure that knows no pain

for I am abased after the glory of my might.

For I am powerless after the might of my dominion

ونح سحاب العين عن شمس عقله

ونح سحاب العين عن شمس عقله

لكي يبدو الحسن المصون بحضرتي

لكي يبدو الحسن المصون بحضرتي

And remove the eye’s clouds from the sun of his intellect,

And draw the cloud of perception from the sun of His intellect

so that the guarded beauty may appear in my presence.

That the protected beauty may appear in my presence

بحق دياجي الذات والهيكل الذي

بحق دياجي الذات والهيكل الذي

أناف على الأفلاك يوم دجنتي

أناف على الأفلاك يوم دجنتي

By the sanctity of the Essence’s darknesses and the temple that

By the right of my essential self and temple that

towered above the celestial spheres on the day of my gloom,

Towered above the spheres the day I was subdued

وبالكنز والعهد القديم وصوته

وبالكنز والعهد القديم وصوته

وبالكاس والمزمار في حان حضرتي

وبالكاس والمزمار في حان حضرتي

and by the treasure, the ancient covenant, and its voice,

And by the treasure and ancient covenant and its voice

and by the cup and the reed pipe in the tavern of my presence,

And by the chalice and flute at the time of being in Your presence

وبالباء في غيب البطون وروحه

وبالباء في غيب البطون وروحه

وبالألف الأجلى ووسع حقيقتي

وبالألف الأجلى ووسع حقيقتي

and by bāʾ in the unseen of inwardness, and its spirit,

And by the baa in the unseen realms and its spirit

and by the most manifest alif and the vastness of my reality.

And by the most sublime alif and breadth of my reality
