ثِقوا معشرَ النَّاسِ بِي إنَّني

على معشَرِ النَّاسِ حانٍ حَدِبْ

على معشَرِ النَّاسِ حانٍ حَدِبْ

Trust me, O people, for I am

Trust in me, O people, for I am

tender and solicitous toward humankind.

Leaning compassionately towards all people.

أُقيمُ على الوُدِّ ثَبْتَ الجَنانِ

أُقيمُ على الوُدِّ ثَبْتَ الجَنانِ

فلا استَحيلُ ولا أضْطَرِبْ

فلا استَحيلُ ولا أضْطَرِبْ

I remain constant in affection, steadfast of heart,

I stand firmly for love and affection,

so I neither change nor waver.

Never wavering or perturbed.

وأسخو بواجب حقِّي ولا

وأسخو بواجب حقِّي ولا

ألِظُّ بحقِّي وإن لم يُجِبْ

ألِظُّ بحقِّي وإن لم يُجِبْ

And I freely yield my rightful due, nor

I give freely what is rightfully due,

do I press my claim, even if no answer comes.

Yet make no demands, even if ignored.

ألا فاتقوا بي فإنِّي كما

ألا فاتقوا بي فإنِّي كما

تمدّحتُ وَلْيَمْتَحِنْ مَنْ يُحِبْ

تمدّحتُ وَلْيَمْتَحِنْ مَنْ يُحِبْ

Take heed, then: seek protection through me, for I am as

So beware of wronging me, for I am as

I have praised myself to be; and let whoever wishes test me.

I have declared - let those who wish test me.

فما كوكبي راجعٌ في الإخاء

فما كوكبي راجعٌ في الإخاء

ولا بُرجُ قلبيَ بالمُنْقلِبْ

ولا بُرجُ قلبيَ بالمُنْقلِبْ

For my star does not move backward in brotherhood,

Neither is my star retrograde in friendship,

nor is my heart's zodiac sign at all changeable.

Nor does my heart's sign ever change.
