شَرَفُ الوَغْد بِوَغدٍ مِثلَهُ

مَثَلٌ ما فيهِ زَيْغٌ وخَلَلْ

مَثَلٌ ما فيهِ زَيْغٌ وخَلَلْ

That a knave is honored by a knave like himself

The glory of tomorrow in a tomorrow like it

Is a maxim with neither distortion nor flaw.

An example without deviation or flaw

وَدَليلُ الصِّدْقِ فيما قلْتُهُ

وَدَليلُ الصِّدْقِ فيما قلْتُهُ

شرَفُ المِرِّيخِ في بَيتِ زُحَلْ

شرَفُ المِرِّيخِ في بَيتِ زُحَلْ

And the proof of the truth of what I have said

And evidence of truth in what I have said
