أشْفِقْ على الدِّرهَمِ والعَيْنِ

أشْفِقْ على الدِّرهَمِ والعَيْنِ

تَسْلَمْ مِنَ العَيْنَةِ والدَّيْنِ

تَسْلَمْ مِنَ العَيْنَةِ والدَّيْنِ

Take care of the dirham and gold;

Have mercy on the coin and the eye;

you will be safe from usurious credit and debt.

You will be safe from envy and debt.

فقُوَّهُ العَينِ بإنسانِها

فقُوَّهُ العَينِ بإنسانِها

وقُوَّةُ الإنسانِ بالعَيْنِ

وقُوَّةُ الإنسانِ بالعَيْنِ

For the eye's strength lies in its pupil,

Strengthen its eye through its human,

and a person's strength lies in gold.

And the strength of the human through the eye.
