يا جامع المالِ كيما يستفيدَ غنى
ورفعةًand eminence وعُلاand high rank دعنيleave me وإقلاليand my scant means
ورفعةً وعُلا دعني وإقلالي
O you who amass wealth to gain riches
O gatherer of wealth, so that you may benefit from riches
And eminence and high rank—leave me with my scant means.
And elevation and height, leave me alone with my poverty
حسبيenough for me القناعةcontentment لاnot أبغيI seek بهاin exchange for it بدلاًa substitute
حسبي القناعة لا أبغي بها بدلاً
غنىriches القناعةcontentment خيرٌbetter منthan غنىriches المالِmoney
غنى القناعة خيرٌ من غنى المالِ
Contentment suffices me; I seek no substitute for it.
Contentment is enough for me, I do not want anything else
The riches of contentment are better than monetary riches.
