My eye's glance gathered from the beauties of his face,
My gaze reaped the beauty of his face
And I did not know that the glance, when it gathered, did wrong.
Yet I knew not that when it glanced, it reaped.

He gestured, holding out hope of union: "Be patient."
With intimacy he gestured, bidding me patience-
So he burdened me with hardship through what he had meant by it.
Thus he burdened me with that which he intended.
