فديْتُكَmay I be your ransom قدalready وعْدتَyou promised فقُلْso say صريحاًplainly
فديْتُكَ قد وعْدتَ فقُلْ صريحاً
متىwhen يخضَرُّturns green للمَوعودِfor what was promised عُودُa bough
متى يخضَرُّ للمَوعودِ عُودُ
May I be your ransom! You have promised, so tell me plainly:
I ransomed you, you promised, so speak candidly
When will a bough grow green for what was promised?
When will the promise bloom for the promised one?
وقلتَand you said الجودُgenerosity بالموجودِwith what is available شَرْطيmy condition
وقلتَ الجودُ بالموجودِ شَرْطي
فهلْso does يرتاحُdelight للمَوجودِin what is available جُودُgenerosity
فهلْ يرتاحُ للمَوجودِ جُودُ
And you said, “Generosity with what is at hand is my condition.”
You said: to find generosity in life is my condition-
So does generosity delight in what is at hand?
So will generosity find comfort in life?
