كَم مُذنِبٍ قد ضافَني

كَم مُذنِبٍ قد ضافَني

فَقريْتُهُ صَفْحاً وغُفْرا

فَقريْتُهُ صَفْحاً وغُفْرا

Many a wrongdoer has come to me as a guest;

How many sinners have wronged me,

so I offered him pardon and forgiveness as hospitality.

yet I pardoned them with forgiveness and mercy.

كم حاسِدٍ صابَرْتُهُ

كم حاسِدٍ صابَرْتُهُ

فقتَلْتُهُ بالصَّبرِ صَبْرا

فقتَلْتُهُ بالصَّبرِ صَبْرا

Many an envier have I patiently endured;

How many envious have I endured,

so I slew him with patience, as a captive is slain.

yet I destroyed them with patience and composure.
