قليلَ الخِلافِ على صاحِبِهْ

If you win a man's affection,

If you have won a man's affection

one who seldom opposes his companion,

Who finds little fault with his companion

فلا تغبِطَنَّ بِهِ نِعمةً

فلا تغبِطَنَّ بِهِ نِعمةً

وعَلَّقْ يمينَكَ ياصاحِ بِهْ

وعَلَّقْ يمينَكَ ياصاحِ بِهْ

then envy no blessing when you have him,

Do not pride yourself on the blessing,

and fasten your right hand to him, my friend.
