كلُّ ومِن نورِه تَنبَتُّ أنوارُ
I would ransom him, every part of whose beauty
I ransom with my soul the one whose every part
Is a whole; and from his light, lights spring forth.
Of beauty grows more lights from his light

A full moon—when reason warns against him, he has
A moon, when ordered to refrain, his eyes still dare
A gaze ever commanding defiance of that prohibition.
Disobey, their every glance a spear in flight

فصوَّراهُ كما يَهوى ويَختارُ
The soul and noble nature worked together,
His nature and his soul in harmony did share
So they fashioned him as he wishes and chooses.
Depicting him as he desires, beyond compare

Thus to nature belongs the beauty of his form,
His form by nature graced, his traits by soul declared
And in his character are traces of the soul.
