I would give my life for a brother who is himself a nation,
With my soul a brother his soul a nation
And whose strategy among humankind is an army.
And his management in the world acute

A brother whose door of kindness stands open,
A brother whose door of kindness is open
And whose door of wrongdoing is shut.
And his door of harm is shut

بَهيمٌ ولا خلقُهُ أبلَقُ
Noble in disposition, so his judgment is not
Noble in nature so neither his opinion
Dark, nor is his character piebald.
Is animalistic nor his manners blunt

Muhammad, you are the strength of my sight;
Muhammad you are the strength of my sight
So how, when you are absent, can I not be anxious?
So how when you are absent will I not worry

Is that, when pledged, they are forfeited.
Are that when pledged they are shut

God bless you, narcissus in a gathering,
By God your worth narcissus in a gathering
Where eyes gaze at its eyes.
Yearning to its pupils the pupils

So it is as though its eye were lined with gold,
As if it was lined with an eye its eye
And as though its petals were silver coins.
And as if its leaves were leaves

He went round with two pitchers of wine,
It revolved with two jugs of wine
And how often my soul has complained of his pitchers!
And how my soul complained of its jugs
