أعنفُ أقواماً بلومي ولا أرى

أعنفُ أقواماً بلومي ولا أرى

ملامي وتعنيفي يحذرُهُم غيا

ملامي وتعنيفي يحذرُهُم غيا

I rebuke people with my censure, yet I do not see

I blame the most violent people, yet I see

My reproach and rebuke warning them against error.

My blame and rebuke do not make them wary

وذاك لأن الجهلَ والموتَ واحدٌ

وذاك لأن الجهلَ والموتَ واحدٌ

ولن يألمَ الإنسانُ ما لم يكن حيّا

ولن يألمَ الإنسانُ ما لم يكن حيّا

And that is because ignorance and death are one and the same,

That's because ignorance and death are the same

And a human being will not feel pain unless he is alive.

Man feels no pain unless he's alive and aware
