مرَرْتُ بأمرَدَيْنِ فقُلْتُ زورا

مرَرْتُ بأمرَدَيْنِ فقُلْتُ زورا

مُحِبَّكُما فقالَ الأمردانِ

مُحِبَّكُما فقالَ الأمردانِ

I passed by two beardless youths and said, falsely,

I passed by two demons and said good morning

“I love you both.” The two beardless youths asked,

Your lover, and the demons replied

أذو مالٍ فقُلْتُ وذو يَسارٍ

أذو مالٍ فقُلْتُ وذو يَسارٍ

فقالَ الأمردانِ الأمرُدانِ

فقالَ الأمردانِ الأمرُدانِ

“Are you wealthy?” I said, “And well-to-do.”

Owner of nothing, I said, and owner of wealth

Then the two beardless youths said, “The matter is within reach.”

The demons, the demons replied
