جَعلْتُ هِدِيَّتي لكُمْ سِواكاَ

جَعلْتُ هِدِيَّتي لكُمْ سِواكاَ

ولم أقصدْ به خَلْقاً سِواكا

I made a tooth-cleaning stick my gift to you,

I have made my gift to be only you

and intended it for no one but you.

And I have intended by it no other creation but you

بعثْتُ إليكَ عُوداً من أراكٍ

بعثْتُ إليكَ عُوداً من أراكٍ

رجاءَ أن تعودَ وأنْ أراكا

I sent you a twig from an arak tree,

I have sent to you a lute made of sandalwood

hoping you would return and I would see you.

In hope that you would return and I would see you
