إنَّ عبدَ العَزيزِ شَيْخٌ

إنَّ عبدَ العَزيزِ شَيْخٌ

بِهِ يُكشَفُ الشَّبَهْ

بِهِ يُكشَفُ الشَّبَهْ

Indeed, Abd al-Aziz is an elder

Through whom ambiguity is dispelled.

وترى للخَليلِ فيهِ

وترى للخَليلِ فيهِ

وأقرانِهِ شَبَهْ

وأقرانِهِ شَبَهْ

And in him you see al-Khalil's

And his peers' likeness.

وهْوَ لاشَكَّ شاهِدٌ

وهْوَ لاشَكَّ شاهِدٌ

أنَّ إبريقَنا شَبَهْ

أنَّ إبريقَنا شَبَهْ

And he is, without doubt, a witness

That our ewer is brass.

يا مَنْ تواضُعُهُ عَوْنٌ وسؤدُدُهْ

يا مَنْ تواضُعُهُ عَوْنٌ وسؤدُدُهْ

نَجْدٌ وهِمَّتُهُ التَّفريجُ للِكُرَبِ

نَجْدٌ وهِمَّتُهُ التَّفريجُ للِكُرَبِ

O you whose humility is a help, and whose nobility

Is a highland, and whose aspiration is to relieve distress,

أَوصِ الزَّمانَ بحِفظي مِن نَوائِبِه

أَوصِ الزَّمانَ بحِفظي مِن نَوائِبِه

فإن أحداثَهُنَّ السُّودَ تلعَبُ بي

فإن أحداثَهُنَّ السُّودَ تلعَبُ بي

Bid Time protect me from its calamities,

For their dark vicissitudes toy with me.
