بنَفسي كِتابٌ أراني عياناً

أجَلَّ وأشرَفَ نوعِ المَقولِ

With my own self a book that shows me plainly

The highest and most noble kind of speech

فألفاظُهُ والمَعاني جَميعاً

مَرائي العُيونِ مَراعي العُقولِ

Its words and meanings all, collectively

Are mirrors to the eyes and minds can reach
