لا تحسَبَنِّي إذا أَوْلَيْتَني نِعَماً

لا تحسَبَنِّي إذا أَوْلَيْتَني نِعَماً

أنَّي أخو وَهَنٍ في الشُّكرِ أو كَسَلِ

أنَّي أخو وَهَنٍ في الشُّكرِ أو كَسَلِ

Do not suppose, when you bestow favors upon me,

Do not think if you grant me kindness

that I am weak or lazy in giving thanks.

That I am weak or lazy in gratitude,

فإنَّني نَحْلُ شُكرٍ إنْ جَنى ثَمَراً

فإنَّني نَحْلُ شُكرٍ إنْ جَنى ثَمَراً

أجناكَ مِن قَولِهِ أحلى مِنَ العَسَلِ

أجناكَ مِن قَولِهِ أحلى مِنَ العَسَلِ

For I am a bee of gratitude: if it gathers fruit,

For I am a bee of thanks if the fruit is harvested

it lets you reap from its words something sweeter than honey.
