واللهِBy God لوif أَّنهُمthat they أَتَونْيcame to me
واللهِ لو أَّنهُم أَتَونْي
بألفِwith a thousand حِرزٍamulet وألفِand a thousand راقِhealer who recites charms
بألفِ حِرزٍ وألفِ راقِ
By God, even if they came to me
By God, even if they came to me
with a thousand amulets and a thousand incantation-healers,
With a thousand amulets and a thousand healers reciting charms,
لمdid not يُذهبِواthey dispel بعضَpart of مااعتَرانيwhat overtook me
لم يُذهبِوا بعضَ مااعتَراني
ونالَنيand befell me ساعةَat the hour of الفِراقِparting
ونالَني ساعةَ الفِراقِ
they could not dispel even a part of what afflicted me
They would not dispel even part of what overtook me
and seized me at the hour of parting.
And befell me at the hour of parting.
