قَدْ أولِعَ النَّاس بالتّلاقِ

قَدْ أولِعَ النَّاس بالتّلاقِ

والمَرْءُ صَبٌّ إلى مُناهُ

والمَرْءُ صَبٌّ إلى مُناهُ

People have become enamored of meeting one another,

and each man yearns for his heart's desire.

وإنَّما منهُمُ صديقٌ

وإنَّما منهُمُ صديقٌ

مَنْ لا يَراني ولا أراهُ

مَنْ لا يَراني ولا أراهُ

Yet the only friend among them

is one who does not see me, nor do I see him.
