هَبْكَsuppose that you ابتُليِتَyou have been afflicted بفَقرٍwith poverty
هَبْكَ ابتُليِتَ بفَقرٍ
وأنتَand you مالِكُmaster of مالِكْyour wealth
وأنتَ مالِكُ مالِكْ
Suppose you have been afflicted with poverty,
though you are master of your wealth;
فماthen what is wrong لِوَصلِكَwith your friendship أودىit has perished
فما لِوَصلِكَ أودى
قُلْtell ليme ومالَكَand you have no مالِكْmaster
قُلْ لي ومالَكَ مالِكْ
why, then, has your friendship perished?
Tell me, when you have no master.
