شرَفٌكyour honor عٍقْدِa necklace الدُّرِّof pearls واصِلٌjoining بعضَهُits parts
شرَفٌك عٍقْدِ الدُّرِّ واصِلٌ بعضَهُ
بَعضاًone another كأُنبوبِlike a segment القَناof reeds المُنْآدِbending
بَعضاً كأُنبوبِ القَنا المُنْآدِ
Your honor is a necklace of pearls, its parts joined
Your starry necklace, each part
To one another, like the stem of a bending reed.
Linked to another like pipes in an aqueduct,
وعُلاand lofty honors كأيّامِlike the days السِّنينَof the years ترادَفَتْfollowed in succession
وعُلا كأيّامِ السِّنينَ ترادَفَتْ
أيّامُهاtheir days بتَكَرُّرِwith the recurrence of الأعيادِfestivals
أيّامُها بتَكَرُّرِ الأعيادِ
And lofty honors like the days of the years—in succession came
Days have followed days
Their days, with festivals recurring.
As festivals follow each year’s celebrations.
