How long shall I be slain by threats and intimidation?

Is it not time for me to see good cheer and welcome?

يا يوسفَ الحُسْنِ لَيْلي بعدَ فُرقتِكُمْ

يا يوسفَ الحُسْنِ لَيْلي بعدَ فُرقتِكُمْ

يَحسكي سِنِي يُوسُفٍ طُولاً وتَعذيبَا

يَحسكي سِنِي يُوسُفٍ طُولاً وتَعذيبَا

O Joseph of beauty, my night since parting from you

resembles Joseph's years in length and torment.

والشَّأْنُ في أنَّني أُرمى لأجْلِكُمُ

والشَّأْنُ في أنَّني أُرمى لأجْلِكُمُ

بِمِثلِ ما قد رَمى إخوانُهُ الذِّيبَا

بِمِثلِ ما قد رَمى إخوانُهُ الذِّيبَا
