لواحِدٍ مذ برى اللهُ الأنامَ معا
Swallowing dry roasted-grain meal and blowing a trumpet have never come together
the boiling of porridge and the blowing of the bugle have not come together
For one person, since God created humankind.
for any single one since Allah created all mankind

So find happiness in whichever of the two you wish, and strive for it;
so be happy with whichever of them you wish, and give it free rein
And leave all else, and prune away desire for anything besides it.
and leave the other well alone and cut short your hopes of it
