مَلِكٌa king يفيضُhe pours forth علىupon العُفاةِthose seeking bounty سِجالَهُhis brimming buckets
مَلِكٌ يفيضُ على العُفاةِ سِجالَهُ
وعلىand upon العُداةِthe enemies بسَطْوِهِwith his might سِجِّيلاstones of baked clay
وعلى العُداةِ بسَطْوِهِ سِجِّيلا
A king who pours his bucketfuls of bounty upon those who seek it,
A king who lavishes his disputes upon the destitute
and with his might rains stones of baked clay upon his foes.
And unleashes his power upon the transgressors
وإذاand when حَباكَhe grants you بغُرَّةٍwith a white forehead blaze (a fine gift) منfrom مالِهِhis wealth
وإذا حَباكَ بغُرَّةٍ من مالِهِ
ثَنَّىhe gives a second time وأعقَبَand he follows with غرَّةًa white forehead blaze تَحجيلاwhite markings on a horse’s legs
ثَنَّى وأعقَبَ غرَّةً تَحجيلا
And when he grants you a white blaze from his wealth,
And if he gifts you a measly sum from his wealth
he gives again, following the blaze with white stockings.
He doubles it and follows with belittlement
