لئِنْ أبدَعَ الدَّهرُ ما بينَنا

لئِنْ أبدَعَ الدَّهرُ ما بينَنا

وأبدعَ أمرٌ مِن البَينِ إمْرا

وأبدعَ أمرٌ مِن البَينِ إمْرا

Though time has wrought strange changes between us,

Though time may render us apart

and a turn of parting has brought about something grievous,

And circumstance may bitterly sting

فكْم لي مِن خاطِرٍ خاطرٍ

فكْم لي مِن خاطِرٍ خاطرٍ

بذِكراكَ من أعظمِ النَّاسِ ذِكْرا

بذِكراكَ من أعظمِ النَّاسِ ذِكْرا

yet many a thought passes through my mind

Memories of you fill my heart

in remembrance of you, one of the most renowned of men.

Making you the most treasured thing
