أيُّwhat عُذْرِexcuse أنْthat صامَfasted عنهfrom him ثنائيmy praise
وأناwhile I الدَّهرُforever مِنهُthrough him فيin يَومِa day فِطْرِof breaking the fast
What excuse is there for my praise to have fasted from him,
What excuse for one who fasts from it a couple
while, through him, I am forever in a day of breaking the fast?
While I have been deprived of it for a day of breaking fast

بِكْرُa maiden شُكُرٍof gratitude زُفَّتْwas led as a bride إلىto صِهرِa bridegroom بِرِّof kindness
And the most perfect of things in radiance and beauty
And the most complete of things in light and beauty
is a maiden of gratitude led as a bride to a bridegroom of kindness.
Is gratitude offered early to the in-laws
ماnot قِرانُthe conjunction السَّعْدَيْنِof the two auspicious planets أبهىmore splendid وأعلىand loftier
مَنظَراًto behold مِنthan قِرانِthe union بِرٍّof kindness وشُكْرِand gratitude
The conjunction of the two auspicious planets is neither more splendid nor loftier
No pairing of good fortune is more wondrous and lofty
to behold than the union of kindness and gratitude.
In appearance than pairing gratitude and thanks
