أنا للِسَّيِّدِ الشَّريفِ غُلامٌ

أنا للِسَّيِّدِ الشَّريفِ غُلامٌ

حَيثُما فَلْيُبَلَّغْ سَلامي

حَيثُما فَلْيُبَلَّغْ سَلامي

I am the noble lord’s servant.

I am the servant of the noble master

Wherever he may be, let my greetings be conveyed to him.

Wherever he may be, convey my greetings

وإذا كُنتُ للكِرام غُلاماً

وإذا كُنتُ للكِرام غُلاماً

فأنا الحُرُّ والزَّمانُ غُلامي

فأنا الحُرُّ والزَّمانُ غُلامي

And if I am a servant to the noble,

And if I am a servant to the generous

then I am a free man, and time is my servant.

Then I am free, and time is my servant
