فدَيتُI would ransom الّذيthe one who أناI عبدٌa slave لَهُto him
بنَفسيwith my soul وذاتيand my very self وكَدِّيand my toil ورَسْميand my outward form
I would ransom him whose slave I am
I ransom with my soul, my being, my toil and my destiny
With my soul, my very self, my toil, and my outward form.
The one whom I am slave to
شَكوْتُI complained إلىto جُودِهِhis generosity خَلَّتيmy need
وَرِقَّةَand the straitness of حاليmy circumstances وتَقصِيرَand the shortfall in سَهْميmy share
I complained to his generosity of my need,
I complained to His generosity my solitude
My straitened circumstances and the meagerness of my share.
And the delicacy of my state and the shortfall of my destiny
ففَرَّغَso he emptied منof رِقَّةِthe straitness of الحالِcircumstances قلبيmy heart
وأفرَغَand he poured فيinto قالَبِthe mold of الرِّقِّbondage جسميmy body
So he emptied my heart of the cares of want,
So He emptied from the delicacy of the state my heart
And poured my body into the mold of bondage.
And poured into the mold of tenderness my body
