إذا غَدا مَلِكٌ باللَّهوِ مُشتَغِلاً

إذا غَدا مَلِكٌ باللَّهوِ مُشتَغِلاً

فاحكُمْ على مُلكِهِ بالوَيْلِ والحَرَبِ

فاحكُمْ على مُلكِهِ بالوَيْلِ والحَرَبِ

If a king becomes absorbed in amusement,

If a king is busy with frivolity,

then judge his kingdom doomed to woe and destitution.

Then judge his kingdom with woe and war.

أمَا ترى الشَّمسَ في المِيزانِ هابِطةْ

أمَا ترى الشَّمسَ في المِيزانِ هابِطةْ

لّما غَدا بُرْجَ نَجمِ اللَّهْوِ والطَّرَبِ

لّما غَدا بُرْجَ نَجمِ اللَّهْوِ والطَّرَبِ

Do you not see the sun fallen in Libra,

Don't you see the sun in the scales descending

since Libra became the sign of the star of amusement and delight?

When the mansion of the star of frivolity and turmoil rose?
