أرىI see وَحدةَsolitude المرءa person كَرْباًanguish لَهُfor him
أرى وَحدةَ المرء كَرْباً لَهُ
وعِشْرَةُand companionship ذيone possessing النَّقصِdeficiency عَينُthe very essence of الخَبالِmadness
وعِشْرَةُ ذي النَّقصِ عَينُ الخَبالِ
I see a person's solitude as anguish for him;
I see a man's solitude as misery for him
and companionship with a deficient man is sheer madness.
While accompanying the flawed is the eye of disgrace
وَتَراهُand you see him يَعشَقُloves passionately كُلَّevery نَذْلٍvile man ساقِطٍcontemptible
وَتَراهُ يَعشَقُ كُلَّ نَذْلٍ ساقِطٍ
عِشْقَthe passionate love of النتيجَةِthe conclusion للأَخَسِّfor the basest الأرذَلِthe vilest
عِشْقَ النتيجَةِ للأَخَسِّ الأرذَلِ
And you see him loving every vile, contemptible man,
And you see him falling in love with every fallen wretch
with a conclusion's love for the basest and vilest.
The love of the dregs for the most despicable
