أتاني كِتابٌ مِن أخٍ لي ماجدٍ

أتاني كِتابٌ مِن أخٍ لي ماجدٍ

فأكرِمْ بهِ بَين المَواهبِ وافِدا

A letter came to me from a noble brother of mine;

A letter came to me from a brother of mine, Majed

and how noble a visitor it is among gifts!

So honor it among the gifts that come as a visitor

وقلْتُ لرُوحي كُنْ لهُ مِن جَميع ما

يخافُ منَ الأيَامِ أو يَختشي فِدا

And I said to my soul: 'Be for him, against all that
