وإذا غنِيتَ فلا تكُنْ بَطِراً

وإذا غنِيتَ فلا تكُنْ بَطِراً

فوراءَ أيَّامِ الغِنى فَقْرُ

فوراءَ أيَّامِ الغِنى فَقْرُ

And if you become wealthy, do not be arrogant;

When you are wealthy, don't be conceited,

for beyond the days of wealth lies poverty.

For after days of wealth come days of poverty.

وإذا افتقرْتَ فلا تَكُنْ جَزِعاً

وإذا افتقرْتَ فلا تَكُنْ جَزِعاً

فوراءَ كُلِّ دُجُنَّةٍ فَجْرُ

فوراءَ كُلِّ دُجُنَّةٍ فَجْرُ

And if you become poor, do not be despairing;

And when you are poor, don't despair,

for beyond every deep darkness lies dawn.

For after every dark night comes the dawn.
