يا مَن يُضَيِّعُ عمرَهُ
مُتمادياًpersisting باللَّهوِin idle amusement أَمسِكْstop!
مُتمادياً باللَّهوِ أَمسِكْ
O you who squander your life,
O you who squanders his life
persisting in idle amusement—stop!
Persisting in frivolity, stop!
واعلمand know بأنَّكthat you لاnot محاfirst fragment of محالة (لا محالة: inevitably)
واعلم بأنَّك لا محا
لَةَfinal fragment of محالة (لا محالة: inevitably) ذاهِبٌdeparting كذَهابِas the departure of أمَسِكْyour yesterday
لَةَ ذاهِبٌ كذَهابِ أمَسِكْ
And know that you will, without
Know that you cannot escape -
fail, depart as your yesterday departed.
You're going just like yesterday went, stop!
