Whenever the breeze would pass by a brook
And a stream—whenever the breeze passes over it,
it clothed it in mail whose rings were its bubbles;
It would clothe it in a coat of bubbles rippling
It clothes it in chainmail whose links are the bubbles,
حتىuntil إذاwhen انطبعتwere imprinted ليلاat night بهupon it شهبstars
حتى إذا انطبعت ليلا به شهب
لمdid not تمترdoubt العينthe eye فيهabout it أنهthat it was الأفقthe horizon
لم تمتر العين فيه أنه الأفق
until, when stars were imprinted upon it at night,
Until when stars were mirrored in it at night
Until, when shooting stars are imprinted in it at night,
the eye did not doubt that it was the horizon.
The eye could not tell it apart from the horizon
The eye doubts not that it is the horizon.
