تَوَّقَ مِمّا تَأتي وَما تَذَرُ

تَوَّقَ مِمّا تَأتي وَما تَذَرُ

جَميعُ ما أَنتَ فيهِ مُعتَذَرُ

Shun, in what you do and what you leave undone,

Long for what comes and goes not

everything for which you must offer an excuse.

ما أَبعَدَ الشَيءَ مِنكَ ما لَم يُسا

ما أَبعَدَ الشَيءَ مِنكَ ما لَم يُسا

عِدكَ عَلَيهِ القَضاءُ وَالقَدَرُ

عِدكَ عَلَيهِ القَضاءُ وَالقَدَرُ

How far a thing is from you, unless—

So far from you what didn't chance

divine decree and destiny help you attain it!

Upon it fate and destiny dance
