يا قُرَّةَ العَينِ كَيفَ أَمسَيتِ
أَعزِزHow grievous! عَلَيناto us بِماat what تَشَكَّيتِyou have complained of
أَعزِز عَلَينا بِما تَشَكَّيتِ
O delight of the eye, how have you fared this evening?
O comfort of my eyes, how have you become
How grievous to us is what you have complained of!
So dear to us with what you have lamented
