لا يَستَطيعُ دِفاعَ مَكروهٍ أَتى
Indeed, the physician, with his medical skill and his medicine,
The doctor with his medicine and drugs
cannot ward off a calamity that has come.
Cannot prevent what bad is bound to come

Why does the physician die of the illness whose
Why should the doctor die of that disease

Gone are the healer, the patient, and the one who
Both the healer and the healed have gone

And seller of the drug and buyer too
