إِنّيindeed I أُكاثِرُvie in numbers with أَعدائيmy enemies مُغالَطَةًthrough deception
إِنّي أُكاثِرُ أَعدائي مُغالَطَةً
وَفيand in الحَشاthe breast لَهَبٌa flame مِنfrom غَيظِمِمpossibly anger at them (malformed word) ضَرَمٌburning
وَفي الحَشا لَهَبٌ مِن غَيظِمِم ضَرَمٌ
Indeed, I vie with my enemies in numbers through deception.
I make my enemies many falsehoods
And in my breast a flame blazes from anger at them [uncertain reading].
And in my mind is a flame of anger, inflamed
وَلَجَّand persisted فيin العَذلِreproach أَقوامٌpeople مَقَتُّهُمُI loathed them
وَلَجَّ في العَذلِ أَقوامٌ مَقَتُّهُمُ
كَأَنَّas though فيin أُذُنيmy ear عَنto عَذلِهِمtheir reproach صَمَمُdeafness
كَأَنَّ في أُذُني عَن عَذلِهِم صَمَمُ
And people I loathed persisted in reproach,
Some have persisted in slander, much to my hatred
as though my ear were deaf to their reproach.
As if deafness itself stops my ears to their slander
