إِنِ اِستَتَمَّ مِنَ الدُنيا لَكَ الياسُ

إِنِ اِستَتَمَّ مِنَ الدُنيا لَكَ الياسُ

فَلَن يَغُمَّكَ لا مَوتٌ وَلا ناسُ

فَلَن يَغُمَّكَ لا مَوتٌ وَلا ناسُ

If your hope in this world is utterly lost,

If you lose hope in this life, then neither death nor people will grieve you.

then neither death nor people will distress you.

God is the most truthful, while hopes are lies.

اللَهُ أَصدَقُ وَالآمالُ كاذِبَةٌ

اللَهُ أَصدَقُ وَالآمالُ كاذِبَةٌ

وَكُلُّ هَذي المُنى في القَلبِ وَسواسُ

وَكُلُّ هَذي المُنى في القَلبِ وَسواسُ

God is most truthful, and hopes are false;

All these wishes in the heart are just whisperings.

and all these wishes are whisperings in the heart.

The best of all is, if you’re content with whatever God does, not what people do.

وَالخَيرُ أَجمَعُ إِن صَحَّ الرِضى لَكَ في

وَالخَيرُ أَجمَعُ إِن صَحَّ الرِضى لَكَ في

ما يَصنَعُ اللَهُ لا ما يَصنَعُ الناسُ

ما يَصنَعُ اللَهُ لا ما يَصنَعُ الناسُ

And all goodness is yours, if you are truly content with

what God does, not what people do.
