رَزَأتُكَI took from you ياO هَذاyou there فَهُنتُso I became insignificant عَلَيكاin your eyes
وَصَغَّرتَنيand you belittled me مُذsince نِلتُI received فَضلَthe bounty of يَدَيكاyour two hands
I took from you, O man, and so fell in your esteem.
I despised you, Oh you, so you weakened me,
And you belittled me since I received the bounty of your hands.
Since I attained the bounty of your hands.
وَرَغَّبتَنيand you enticed me حَتّىuntil رَغِبتُI longed فَصِرتَthen you proceeded بيwith me
إِلىto بُغضِhatred of ذُلِّthe abasement of الراغِبينَthose seeking favor إِلَيكاto you
And you enticed me until I longed, then led me
And you made me desire, until I desired, thus becoming,
To hate the abasement of those who seek your favor.
Because of you, hateful towards the desiring beggars.
فَهاتيكَthat, then مِنّيon my part عَثرَةٌa stumble إِنif أَقَلتَهاyou pardon it
وَإِلّاand if not فَإِنّيthen indeed I am فيin السُقوطِa fallen state لَدَيكاbefore you
That, then, is a stumble of mine, if you pardon it;
So take this stumble from me if you consider it slight,
And if not, then I am fallen before you.
Otherwise, I am bound to fall before you.
