Has called to leave this world and its abode.

I will weep, for the time to depart has come,
the house of my severance from the world and my solitude.
To the house of seclusion from this world and its loneliness.

إِن كُنتُ مُنتَفِعاً يَوماً بِعِبرَتِيَه
O eye, how many clear lessons there are for me,
O eyes, how many unshed tears will I have
if I am ever to profit from my lesson!
If I ever benefit from my weeping one day?
ياO عَينُeye فَاِنهَمِليthen pour forth إِنif شِئتِyou wish أَوor فَدَعيthen refrain

O eye, then stream if you wish, or else refrain;
O eyes, be sleepless if you wish or let me be,
as for time, it has already done away with my freshness.
For time has ended my liveliness.

مَولى يُنَفِّسُ إِلّا اللَهُ كُربَتِيَه
O my anguish on the day when no neighbor shows kindness, nor
O my anguish, on the day when I have no neighbor who is righteous
any protector relieves my anguish, save God—
Nor a master except Allah to relieve my anguish!

تَميدُ بي في حِياضِ المَوتِ سَكرَتِيَه
a day when I turn my gaze, staring fixedly,
A day when I will stare wide-eyed
while my stupor makes me reel in the pools of death,
As death's intoxication overtakes me,
إِذاwhen تَمَثَّلَtakes shape ليbefore me كَربُthe anguish of السِياقِdying وَقَدand already
إِذا تَمَثَّلَ لي كَربُ السِياقِ وَقَد

قَلَّبتُ طَرفي وَقَد رَدَدتُ غُصَّتِيَه
when the anguish of dying takes shape before me, and I have
When the worries of my fate are personified before me
turned my gaze and swallowed back the lump in my throat.
And I moan again from the pain.
