أَشهَدُI bear witness بِاللَهِby God وَآياتِهِand His signs
أَشهَدُ بِاللَهِ وَآياتِهِ
شَهادَةًa testimony باطِنَةًinward ظاهِرَهoutward
شَهادَةً باطِنَةً ظاهِرَه
I bear witness by God and His signs,
I bear witness to God and His signs
a testimony both inward and outward:
An inner testimony and an outer one
ماnot شَرَفُhonor الدُنياthis world بِشَيءٍworth anything إِذاif
ما شَرَفُ الدُنيا بِشَيءٍ إِذا
لَمdoes not يَتَّبِعهُfollow it شَرَفُhonor الآخِرَةthe Hereafter
لَم يَتَّبِعهُ شَرَفُ الآخِرَة
The honor of this world is worth nothing if
No glory of this life is worth anything
the honor of the Hereafter does not follow it.
If the glory of the hereafter does not follow it
