أَصبَحتُ في دارِ بَليّاتِ

أَصبَحتُ في دارِ بَليّاتِ

أَدفَعُ آفاتٍ بِآفاتِ

I am now in an abode of afflictions;

I have come to dwell in the abode of woes

I ward off calamities with calamities.

I ward off harms with other harms
